Earth Series #s 6-10 are the second half of the trademark series of open-ended, more ambiguous abstrations. The selection of compositions in these pieces became more and more challenging as the series progressed. Nonetheless, each one only becomes a symbol of countless others in any given category of designs. In only ten paintings, each one leaps beyond any ideas suggested by the previous and becomes something new and fresh in itself. My hope is that in this way the series spans a great arc and comes full circle in a forceful and provocative way. My hope also is that each may also become like a word in a language, or a musical note that can be shaped or bent and combined in more psychologically engaging paintings to come.
