Fuck You was the second painting in the ongoing "Me Series" of work. As such it partook in the same kinds of dynamics and concerns introduced in The Great Outdoors.

This time the subject was that of vulgarity and crudeness in society, media and mores. The brutal and base nature of the gesture, though, introduces numerous questions about behavior, response and propriety. Is this an offensive painting? Is it aggressive, or obscene?

As an artist, I am constantly asking myself if I am being dismissive of various aspects of human experience. Here, the abstract parts of the painting march step-by-step, deliberately and forcefully toward its conclusion conveying a sense of mastery and strength. In today's world this kind of assertion and proposition should not come across as shocking or unexpected.
