Technology is an ironic twist on a theory that mechanical devices are a reflection of the second chakra in the body, that associated with the senses and sexuality. The connection of elevated thinking with the gynecological speculums, which have a very practical use, nonetheless imbues them with a sense of obscenity and perversity.
